First week in the MTC finished!! The MTC is proving to be one of the best experiences. I love my district and my companion. I said my first prayer in Japanese without help last Sunday. Everyone here is so kind, opening doors, and greeting all the new missionaries wearing their "dork dots" (and it's weird to me that they are an orange dot instead of green because we are the greenest of the green here). Three of the six elders in our zone are from out of country (Germany, France, and Bulgaria). I love it! Only one other elder in our class is from Utah.
Sorry this email is so short! I have class starting in the next 10 minutes.
Lots of Love from the MTC,
Rogers Shimai

My companion Askew Shimai is half Japanese. She just graduated from high school and she was fluent in Japanese when she was 4, but has since forgotten. She is REALLY smart. She's been to Japan a few times so I'm always asking her questions! She is so kind and easy to talk to. |

I'm studious even amidst chaos. (Perk or downfall of being the oldest sibling) |

Just chillin' |
